Golf Term – what’s a slice?

It is the opposite of a hook shot!

It is the shot that curves sharply from right to left (for left-handers) or left to right (for right-handers) and is difficult to control, even when done intentionally (yeah, right!)

Golf Term – what’s a loft?

It is the angle of the clubface which is measured in degrees.

A driver typically has between nine and eleven degrees loft.
As you go along from the longer irons (#3 iron, #4 iron) to the shorter ones (#9 iron, pitching wedge, sand wedge) the irons will get loftier.

What’s an Albatross?

Its a score of three under par on a hole; a term generally not used by the amateur golfer.
